a new generation of software and efficient database tools
GOSHA
Software
The user of GOSHA software (version 3.0 and higher) will have the advantage of automatically making context (by reference) and key index vocabularies in the catalogue of texts. Such indexes and vocabularies can be made from texts and data tables of the database, as well as from files or a group of files. While processing data automatically, the user can 'strip off' different characters. The user may specify that root analysis shall be processed while inputting data automatically.
The resulting indexes can be saved as 'projects' of two types: key words (unique words vocabulary) and reference, or context, indexes (with specified publication, text number, and line or paragraph). Both types save the information on the font set (main or second language). The user can save many such 'vocabulary projects'. The speed of access to such 'projects' depends on their size, and thus the time needed for downloading them into special work windows. In order to provide fast access to work vocabularies and dictionaries, the program maintains four permanent vocabulary indexes.
Vocabulary indexes 1-4 may be used for any type of vocabulary. One may use the 'Key Word' field to define a unique dictionary form in the main catalogue, or specify this 'Key Word' along with the context reference in the corresponding reference catalogue. In case the user will wish to start filling from the reference catalogue, any new 'Key Word' will be automatically added to the corresponding main catalogue. One can sort records by any of the basic fields in the corresponding main and reference catalogues in accordance with the custom sort order tables. This allows keeping words from different languages together in one index, and separating them by languages, if needed, in seconds. It means that one may use different vocabulary indexes to keep different types of data (for example, basic vocabulary, geographical names, idioms, etc.). The print setup program launched from the pop-up window of any vocabulary index will inherit the last applied sort order. One may define bookmarks to select records for printing.
